Understanding Class B ELDT Requirements
ELDT or Entry-Level Driver Training mandates were put in place for anyone obtaining a Class B CDL for the first time. This new training regulation was mandated in February of 2022 to ensure all new drivers are given the same standard of training on a federal level. Class B training must be completed by a training program approved by the FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry (TPR). New drivers will need to complete the ELDT course for Class B before they are permitted to take a CDL Skills test.
