As a young project manager for Cummins Engine, Mr. Welch saw the need for trucking companies to find well-trained, qualified truck drivers. Since 1987, C1 has grown to offer Class A CDL and Class B CDL training at 3 regionally-based schools. Our knowledge and expertise in training new truck drivers draw students from across the country to our truck driving schools and we put them to work at the nation’s most reputable trucking companies. History Tradition Success

The C1 Grad Hats are a symbol of our 30+ year tradition of training safe, professional truck drivers. Students receive their hats upon completing our truck driver training program and passing the CDL test. It doesn’t take long before these hats fill up with sharpie signatures from fellow classmates and instructors; turning it into a trophy to keep as a lifelong reminder of their achievements.

CDL Ace Club

Students who pass the CDL test on their first try receive a special red C1 Grad Hat. To recognize this exceptional accomplishment, each red hat also has the words "CDL Ace" stitched on the side, signifying their place in an elite club of drivers.
