Class B CDL training is just two weeks, which is significantly shorter than Class A training. You can also save money by completing your first week of training from home, eliminating the need to commute or pay for lodging near a training campus. Completing your first week online is not mandatory, but it is a great way to reduce time on campus for behind-the-wheel instruction.

3Class B CDL Training Costs
Class B training costs explained: At C1, our Class B CDL program fees cover both the 2-week ELDT-compliant training program and also multiple attempts at the final state skills test. C1 will schedule your skills test with a state-approved testing site, eliminating long wait times. Many Class B students choose to pay their own school fees, which essentially makes them a "free agent" and able to choose their employer. Some Class B employers may offer tuition reimbursement or help cover the upfront costs of training.

4Class B Experience Qualifications
No experience is needed to get started with your CDL Class B, and there are plenty of job opportunities that hire new drivers. Class B is a great introduction to the commercial driving industry.

Understanding Class B ELDT Requirements

ELDT or Entry-Level Driver Training requirements were put in place for anyone obtaining a Class B CDL for the first time. This new training regulation was federally mandated in February of 2022 to ensure all new drivers are given the same standard of training. Class B training providers must be approved and registered on the FMCSA's Training Provider Registry (TPR).
